Abstract/Resumen
The Anthropology of the Clinic in thé Mental Health Field in Québec Some Historical Landmarks and their Institutional Frameworks, 1950-1990
The author establishes, in thé first place, thé différences which exist between a clinical anthropology (applied) and an anthropology of thé clinic (fundamental). Further on, in regard to thé latter, he reconstructs a forty year profile of studies on thé psychosocial and cultural aspects of mental health with thé intent to situate them within their historical contexts and their institutional frameworks. The général sketch is built upon five master pièces, each having ils own characteristics and contributing in a particular manner to thé enrichment of theoretical perspectives and to thé refining of méthodologies and instrumental devices.
Résumé
L'auteur établit, en premier lieu, les différences qui existent entre une anthropologie clinique (d'application) et une anthropologie de la clinique (fondamentale). Il bâtit ensuite, pour ce dernier type d'anthropologie, un profil des études sur les aspects psychosociaux et culturels de la santé mentale sur une période de 40 ans en ayant soin de les situer dans des contextes historiques et des cadres institutionnels. L'esquisse générale est fondée sur cinq pièces maîtresses, chacune ayant ses caractéristiques propres et contribuant d'une manière spécifique à l'enrichissement des perspectives théoriques et au raffinement des méthodologies et instrumentations.
